Terms and conditions

These terms cover every charter booked with BOB Marine Pte Ltd. Each yacht also has its own cancellation, payment and house rules, listed on its page. Where a yacht's page says something different from this one, the yacht's page applies.

If you cancel

Booking and payment

  • A booking is confirmed once payment is in. Dates go first come, first served.
  • We can hold a date and time for 3 days while you arrange payment.
  • Most yachts take payment in full when you book. A few take a deposit instead; the yacht's page says which.
  • You can pay by bank transfer, PayNow or card. Card payments carry a 4% service charge. Put the invoice number in the reference of a bank transfer.
  • Anything you add on the day of the charter is paid on the day, by cash or PayNow.
  • Extra hours are charged at the yacht's hourly rate, if the captain agrees and the yacht is free.
  • When a refund is due, we pay it by bank transfer within a month.

If we cancel or delay

In bad weather or rough seas, the captain checks with the marina's duty officer and decides whether it is safe to go out. If we call the charter off, you choose between a full refund and another date.

The same applies if the yacht has a technical fault that affects safety: you get a full refund, another date, or a different yacht. If something else unforeseen makes us cancel, you get your money back in full or a new slot.

Time lost waiting for the weather to clear is not added to the end of your charter.

The captain can end a charter, with no refund, if anyone on board behaves in a way that puts themselves, the crew or other guests in danger.

On board

  • Only our captains drive the yacht, whatever licence you hold.
  • Guests go into the water only when the captain or crew say it is safe to.
  • There is no lifeguard. Swimming and water activities are at your own risk.
  • Children count as guests and must be watched by an adult at all times. Tell us how many children are coming when you book.
  • Swimming stops at a set time each evening, which varies by yacht. It is in the yacht's house rules.
  • Alcohol stops 15 minutes before the charter ends.
  • Please be off the yacht within 15 minutes of the end time so the crew can clean it. Beyond that, the yacht's hourly rate applies.

Insurance and liability

Every yacht carries its own insurance and public liability cover. That cover is third-party only: it does not insure you or your guests personally, so we recommend you take out your own personal accident or travel insurance.

BOB Marine is not liable for injury, or for loss of or damage to personal belongings, during swimming and water activities.

Damage to the yacht and equipment

You are responsible for damage to the yacht, its furniture, fittings and equipment caused by you or anyone in your group during the charter, including accidental damage. If rented equipment is damaged through carelessness, you pay for the repair or a replacement.

Please leave the yacht reasonably clean. An unreasonable mess is charged for.

Water toys and equipment

  • Floats, kayaks and other water toys depend on availability. Confirm what you want before the charter.
  • Paid motorised water toys, such as the electric go-kart boat, are charged in full if you cancel them less than 7 days before the charter.
  • Fishing rods can be rented. Bait and crew help with fishing are paid separately.

Food, drink and corkage

  • Food and drink are not in the charter rate.
  • Food and drink packages are pre-order only, at least 7 days before the charter. Cancelled food orders are not refunded.
  • Free-flow drinks are for drinking on board, not for taking home.
  • Corkage rules differ between yachts and marinas. The yacht's page lists what is free and what is charged.

Promotions and discount codes

  • Each discount code can be used once, before its expiry date.
  • Codes cannot be exchanged for cash or replaced if lost.
  • Only one code can be used per booking, and codes cannot be combined with other offers unless the offer says so.
